Looe is a vibrant, historic fishing port where one can choose from a host of activities including safe bathing from the golden sandy beach, rock pooling and whiling away the hours crabbing off the quayside and watching the local fisherman unloading the days catch. Many other watersports such as speedboating, water skiing and surfing are available nearby.
The coastline in this region is beautiful and is accessible by the scenic Cornwall South Coast Path that leads up from the beach to the East and over the bridge to West Looe to follow the path to the west towards Polperro.. In addition, throughout the year Looe hosts a range of events including sailing regattas, a jazz festival, carnival week and even a duck race! New year at Looe is made really special with the whole town celebrating in fancy dress and fireworks at midnight off the beach.
A lovely picturesque railway running along the river connects East Looe to Liskeard giving further access to the national rail network.
The river divides East and West Looe and is connected by a beautiful arched victorian bridge, both areas have a wealth of quaint buildings, cobbled streets, award winnning restaurants, cafes, traditional pubs and a variety of interesting shops, art galleries and boutiques.
